By working in partnership with SGOSS, Local Authorities can tap into a free resource to supply high quality volunteers to help lead school improvement.
Our Business Development Team can provide a a point of contact for your Local Authority. The Business Development Manager can work in partnership with your Governor Services team to support the recruitment and placement of school governor volunteers. SGOSS aims to deploy a range of innovative recruitment techniques to help fill governor vacancies. Whilst the nature of any campaign is dependent upon the resources available, these can include:
- Face-to-face recruitment events, hosted by local employers
- Internal communications within local employers
- Coverage in the local press and radio
- Poster campaigns
- Advertising in magazines and newspapers
- Advertising via the internet and search engines
- Tailored recruitment materials
- Targeted leaflet drops
- Radio interviews
In some Local Authorities, SGOSS has been able to support the local team in obtaining references. In all cases, SGOSS asks that the Local Authority to commits to help with the speedy and effective placement of recruited volunteers, including regular updates on vacancy numbers and location. SGOSS understands the constant pressure for Local Authorities to make the best use of their resources and so all of our services are FREE.
